What does online interior design mean?
Instead of working with an interior designer in person, online interior design allows you to work with an interior designer using your internet service, telephone and mail.
How does the online interior design process work?
It is very simple! First, go to the “Design Services” page and choose "Online Design." Determine which plan works best for you — the “You Buy” or “We Buy”. Next, choose Tab #2, “Pay For Your Design” where you will choose how many rooms you want designed, and press the “Pay Now” button.
You will then be taken to a check-out page that provides you with a choice on how to pay for the design. After you enter your payment, we are then notified of your request. At that time, we will email you a questionnaire and instructions for measuring your room(s) and photos that we will need. We ask that you complete the questionnaire and submit it to us with the required measurements and photos so that we can proceed with designing your room(s). The questionnaire is very important because it will provide us with the necessary information about you, your family, your lifestyle, and all of the elements necessary to create a customized design just for you.
If you have chosen Plan One, where you purchase the furnishings, we will mail to you a binder that contains a floorplan with furniture layout, a color board, and a list of all of the furnishings we recommend with their costs and where they can be purchased. If, for some reason some of the furnishings are not to your liking, we will provide a one-time revision at no extra charge. We have chosen retailers that have stores in most areas, online stores, or catalogs. If you choose Plan Two, where we recommend furnishings that can be available only “to the trade”, we will mail you a binder that contains a floorplan with furniture layout, a color board, and a list of all of the furnishings that we will order for you from various manufacturers. If, for some reason some of the furnishings are not to your liking, we will provide a one-time revision at no extra charge. Once you have approved the design and wish to purchase the furnishings, we will prepare and mail a proposal to you that includes the cost of the furnishings (our cost plus 20%), the shipping costs and taxes and send it to you for your signature. The proposal must then be signed and returned to us with your payment indicated in the proposal. Once we receive the signed proposal and payment, we will then place orders for the furnishings and make arrangements for them to be shipped to you. We do not provide installation for this plan.
Why do I need to complete a questionnaire and submit measurements and photos?
The questionnaire is not complicated and will not take long for you to complete. However, it is very important because it will reveal how you use the room(s), the colors you would like us to use, who will be using the room(s), your preferred style of furniture — all necessary to provide you with the best interior design for your home.
Can I use my existing furnishings?
Yes, if you have furnishings that you would like us to incorporate, send us photos and measurements of the items.
Do you design kitchens and bathrooms?
Yes, we can provide online interior design for accessories for the kitchen and bathroom. If you wish to make minor cosmetic changes such as changing the countertops, backsplash, fixtures or flooring and live in the Central Virginia or the State of Hawaii, contact us to learn more about our Complete Interior Design Services.
Do I have to live in a specific location to use your services?
No, we can provide our online interior design services anywhere within the United States (all 50 states). If you wish to use our “Complete Interior Design Services”, you must live in Central Virginia or the State of Hawaii.
Do you still provide your regular interior design services where we choose the furnishings from those that you present to us, you purchase the furnishings, and then ship, deliver and install the furnishings?
Yes, we do! Please see the “Complete Interior Design Services” heading and click on the “Learn More” button. This will take you to a separate page that outlines all of the services we provide in Central Virginia and Hawaii.
Can Interiors Design Group refuse to provide online interior decorating services?
Yes, we will provide in writing a refusal of online interior decor services if any of the following occurs:
Payment processing denied.
Customer photos are received unclear.
Customer falsified information.
Inability to provide timeliness service to customer.
Inability to provide professional decor feedback to customer due to service restrictions. *These plausible circumstances will lead to automatic refunds.
Do I have to purchase the furnishings you recommend in Plan One?
No, they are only recommendations. Of course, we know that they are excellent recommendations, but you can use our recommendations as a guide with regards to size, color and style if you want to do your own shopping.
After we place our order for the online interior design, how long will it take to receive the final product?
Our goal is to send you your final design within 2-3 weeks after we receive your completed questionnaire, measurements and photos. It also depends on how many rooms you have asked us to design.
What if I don’t like the design once I receive it?
We understand that there could be some items in the design that don’t meet your approval. Since we want you to be satisfied with the design, we ask that you send us an email with your concerns. The design you purchase from us includes making a one-time change at no additional cost.
Is it possible to talk to the designer about the design plan I have purchased?
Yes, we have included two hours of phone conversations in the purchase of the design plan.
